The "Move Plus" Parkinson Programme
The name "Move Plus" will bring back memories for
many people. It refers to movers concept of the 1990s in which Bernhard
Schaaf aka Bernie played an active role. With the same professional
intensity with which he acted as a mover he has now started to tackle
the Parkinson theme.
He discovered similarities between the moving business and Parkinson:
- As in moving, you cannot create a demand. It is there or it isn't.
- The client and the Parkinson-patient are at first rarely willing to pay a premium price.
- The client and the Parkinson-patient are both on their way to a new destination and looking for a new home base.
Bernies home base now is a group of like minded people who are suffering from Parkinson and share his views and attitudes.
The new home base after a move is one thing, to establish a new home base when Parkinson hits you is another thing completely. You can sit and wait, while things are deteriorating. With the help of modern medicine you have a relatively comfortable life until you come to a point when this medicine does not work anymore. The alternative is - to take your destiny in your own hands and keep yourself as fit as you possibly can. An important or even crucial point is CONSCIOUSNESS in everything we do. So we are developing OUR WAY to cope with the situation.
